Stress and Burnout

Help for when you feel like you’re running on empty.

The demands of day-to-day life can be A LOT. Whether it’s a high-pressure job, caring for children and/or aging parents, navigating tricky relationships, dealing with health issues, any and all of the above, or something else entirely, stress can make you feel like you’re at the end of a frayed rope that’s burning at both ends (that’s how that metaphor goes, right?). Something’s gotta give, and I’m here to help you figure out what you can change while preserving your sense of fulfillment and life satisfaction.

Treatment approach

When addressing stress and burnout, we’ll spend time identifying your values - domains such as family, health, spirituality, etc. that are important to you personally. So often, burnout arises when an important value isn’t getting enough attention. We’ll work together to figure out where your energy is being spent and what changes can be made to nurture areas that have been neglected. These might include cognitive strategies to shift your perspective, mindfulness practice to keep you grounded in the present, behavioral techniques to engage you in valued activity, or other tools that reduce your stress before it becomes unmanageable. Throughout, we’ll keep in consideration your life context, to ensure that changes are realistic and sustainable. The demands and responsibilities that contribute to burnout are real, AND you deserve to enjoy your life while fulfilling these.
