Treatment approach
I take a cognitive-behavioral approach when treating depression, with specific treatment plans tailored to the individual person and their circumstances. Sometimes, a behavioral activation approach can help you “fake it till you make it,” and increase your ability to experience pleasure. Cognitive strategies can help you recognize and challenge depressive thoughts, replacing negative self-talk with more helpful and realistic thoughts. When your environment feels out of control, working towards acceptance of the current reality can help make clear the aspects you can change for the better to feel less helpless. We’ll work together to discover the approach that best helps you feel like your life is worth living again.
